Croisé

With hopes of normalizing the use of cannabis in its medicinal and recreational role in society, Croisé can be a stepping stone into experimenting with other natural substances and reducing its stigma. Croisé is a french word that translates to “crossed” which is a term people use to describe being under the influence of alcohol and cannabis at the same time.

Keeping in mind the hierarchy and its importance in simple designs, I drew inspiration from letterpress printing. The typeface itself is humanistic, meaning the letters’ axis is at a stronger angle, imitating the angle at which someone's hand is when they are writing. I looked for hand-drawn graphics that would tie into the origins of the typeface. Considering the typeface is humanistic, there is a hand-drawn marijuana plant in the background to emphasize the humanism that is behind the design as well as the extraction of THC from the plant.

As for the bottle shape, I went with the most recognizable one, based on my personal perspective, the Bordeaux bottle. With the idea of this being a more “elegantly” viewed wine, the color palette earthy, aged, and rich. Overall, the finished label is to be printed with a matte finish and gold foil text and surrounding elements.
